First steps...

So then. What to order? Well I’m still a little unsure of the task ahead so I’m going to start small.

I intend to buy the Cadian Command Squad…

...and a unit of Cadian Shock Troops.

This will give me a good indication of how difficult the models are to assemble and paint. I chose the Cadians over the Catachans because I’m going for a ‘British/Russian World War 2’ look. Traditional green/brown camouflage. Nothing fancy, everything regimented.

I want a fairly balanced force of bodies and tanks as I don’t really like choosing an army customized to fighting a particular opponent. I much prefer the fixed army lists of a campaign.

Next up, colour scheme.

  1. Good idea FB. I like the Cadian models. I suppose we'll find out about any further releases this Saturday for AM as GW seem to be staggering the releases for the new Codex's. In fact we'll probably see new AM releases for the next couple of weeks. This is a great place to start though. Chimeras are supposed to be quite good transports for the costs. I've never faced one but I have read some good words about them.

  2. From what I've read, power gamers like the Chimera because it's quite a large model. 3 of them lined up can pretty much block half a battlefield depending on how the terrain it set up.

  3. Any ideas on the overall colour for the army Budda?
